STAR NAILS – BULGARIA PUT INTO SERVICE ITS NEW MANUFACTURING FACILITY


Star Nails – Bulgaria, the company that sets the standard for high quality, put into service its new manufacturing facility in Plovdiv.

The main production concept of Star Nails remains unchanged – reaching the high quality of the manufactured products and the rich use of natural ingredients.

The new manufacturing and logistics complex allows a higher production of the preferred brand products for pedicure and manicure and achieving the company goals - innovation, punctuality and uncompromised tests of the products, continuous introduction of modern technologies in production and creative attitude to the development of new products.

Realization of a large volume of the products will further strengthen the presence of the brand in more beauty salons and shops not only within Bulgaria and abroad.

European Advertising Standards Alliance EASA noted BNAEOPC membership in the National Council for Self-Regulation


After the formal adoption of BNAEOPC as a member of the National Council for Self-Regulation in early June, the event was noted in EASA Newsletter JUNE - JULY 2016. EASA’s communication emphasized that perfumery, cosmetics and personal care products play a key role in the advertising industry in Bulgaria and the cooperation between BNAEOPC and NCSR is a new step forward in the development of self-regulation in the country.

INTENSIVE TRAINING COURSE FOR SAFETY ASSESSORS OF COSMETIC PRODUCTS IN COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATION (EC) 1223/2009


In the period 20 - 24 February 2017 BNAEOPC organizes a five-day INTENSIVE TRAINING COURSE FOR ASSESSOR OF SAFETY OF COSMETIC PRODUCTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF REGULATION (EO) 1223/2009.

Speakers: Highly qualified internationally recognized experts in the field provided by courtesy of Italian cosmetic association COSMETICA ITALIA. Speakers are Prof. Corrado Lodovico Galli, Prof. Marina Marinovich, Ass. Prof. Manuela Corsini, PhD Silvia Boracchi, PhD Francesca Bernacchi, Prof. Karolina Lyubomirova.

The official language of the course is English. 

Requirements for the applicants pursuant to Art. 10, paragraph 2 of Regulation (EO) 1223/2009: “possession of a diploma or other evidence of formal qualifications awarded on completion of a university course of theoretical and practical study in pharmacy, toxicology, medicine or a similar discipline”.

Course fee: 1800 euro

The course fee covers all lessons, simultaneous translation, course notes, coffee breaks, lunches, exam on the last day of the course.

The course fee does not include travel expenses and hotel accommodation.

WIPO REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON PROTECTION OF GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS (GIS): THE LISBON SYSTEM AND OTHER MEANS OF PROTECTION, HELD IN SOFIA

On 24 and 25 November in Sofia was held a Regional Conference on Protection of Geographical Indications (GIs): the Lisbon System and Other Means of Protection, organized by World Intellectual Property Organization and supported by Bulgarian Patent Office.

Experts from nine countries took part at the conference. The aim was exchange of experience and know-how on protection of geographical indications and information about the different possibilities for protection of traditional products.

Bulgarian experience on protection of geographical indications was shared by:

- The government point of view: Ivanka Statkova, chief expert at Market measures and producers organizations Directorate, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Informational Center.

- The producers point of view: Nikolina Uzunova, Executive Director of Bulgarian National Association Essential oils, Perfumery and Cosmetics.

Lecturers at the seminar were also Silvija Trpkovska and Natalie Nathon, WIPO, Dragana Perišić, Intellectual Property Office Belgrade, Irakli Kasradze, National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia –“Sakpatenti “, Leo Bertozzi, Italian Association Geographic Indication Consortia, Florence Rojal, Senior Legal Officer at Lisbon Registry, Lidija Vignjević, Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Miguel Angel Medina Elzaburu, IP International Law firm.


PRACTICAL SEMINAR: "EUROPEAN CHEMICAL LEGISLATION. REACH PHASE III - 2018. CHALLENGES FOR COSMETICS AND ESSENTIAL OILS INDUSTRY", DECEMBER 8, 2016, HALL PULDIN, PARK -HOTEL ST. PETERSBURG, PLOVDIV

On December 8, 2016, in Plovdiv, Park-Hotel "St. Petersburg" was held practical seminar on "European Chemical Legislation. REACH Phase III - 2018. Challenges for Cosmetics and Essential Oils Industry".

The seminar was organized by the Bulgarian National Association Essential Oils, Perfumery and Cosmetics (BNAEOPC) and BASF. Lecturers were prominent European experts in the field of chemical legislation and representatives of the Competent authorities – Ministry of Environment and Water and National Center of Public Health and Analyses.

Accompanying events in the program of the seminar included:

• Presentation of DG Consulting Company "International regulations on the transport of dangerous goods. Dangerous goods - classification and elements Packaging - species. Labels and marking"

• Presentation of Bulmarket DM Ltd., a manufacturer and trader of biodiesel.
The seminar was attended by over 50 participants, including representatives of cosmetics and essential oils companies, members of BNAEOPC, manufacturing and distribution companies, representatives of NCPHA, safety assessors, raw materials suppliers.
Main object of discussion were the upcoming registration deadlines in the last phase III of REACH, the obligations of importers and essential oil manufacturers, the impact of REACH and CLP on the implementation of the cosmetic regulation, etc.
